Helping couples Build lasting & fulfilling relationships

There was a time when your relationship felt easy. You used to have so much fun, talking late into the night about the trips you’d take, the life you’d have, the family you’d build. Somewhere along the way you lost each other. You wish you could get back to that time when you naturally laughed, enjoyed each other, and were excited to learn everything you could about the other person. How lucky you had felt to have found each other and how lonely you now, even when they are right next to you.

You don’t know what went wrong in the relationship, whose fault it is, or how you got to where you are. You just know that something needs to change.

You want to be heard, to be understood, to feel loved, to like each other again. You want to stop fighting and to start living life again with the same joy and passion you once had for each other and for the relationship. Communication with your partner seems like a minefield of misunderstandings and it feels like you’re speaking two different languages. Seemingly little things hurt feelings, big things go untalked about.

You need real solutions, someone who understands relationships, couples, and how to help you and your partner. You feel guilty and embarrassed - your parents or friends seem to think your relationship is perfect, you can’t ask for advice. Or maybe your friends and relatives have too many opinions or you vented too many times and you just feel trapped in all these bad feelings.

With the support of a trained couples therapist, it is possible to rebuild your relationship and to feel the passion, love and excitement that the two of you once shared.

Weekly or Bi-Weekly Couples Therapy Sessions: We will meet weekly or bi-weekly depending on your goals and relationship needs. All sessions will be conducted exclusively online and you and your partner do not need to be in the same place during the time of the session.

The 1st session is a time when you, your partner, and I come together to discuss the issues that are bringing you into couples therapy. During this time I will ask you and your partner to share the story of your relationship, what is bringing you into therapy, and what you hope to accomplish in therapy.

The 2nd session is actually 2 separate 45 minute sessions done individually with you and then with your partner. These individual sessions are a time for you and your partner to speak more candidly about your needs in the relationship and your hopes for couples therapy. It’s normal to be concerned about this part of the process - but I’m not here to judge or take sides. I listen to you both equally to get a clear picture of what you’ll need individually and as a couple.

Session 3 is when you, your partner and I come back together and discuss goals for therapy. Using the information gathered in the first session, the 2 individual sessions and from the online assessment, we will map out a plan to help you and your partner get back on track in your relationship.

Using Gottman Couples Therapy, I help couples find their way back to each other by focusing on rebuilding friendship, growing fondness and admiration for each other, and developing communication skills.
